 Visiting Sunrise Girls Home

Liz & Robin visited the Desoto Sunrise Girls Home - they "Hung-out" with 7 girls and loved it! The girls talked about others who used to come and visit but they "got too busy" and stopped coming. They must have felt abandoned.

Before visiting the Desoto Sunrise Homes, a background investigation will need to be conducted on each of us. If you have not already done so, please get your paper work in to Desoto Sunrise ASAP - No volunteers to visit next Tuesday.

 Management of Revenue

Celia researched and presented information on the complexity and cost involved in setting up a Bank Account and obtaining a Tax ID # that reopened the discussion for managing the money.

The following was the result of the reopened discussion and vote:

  • No percent of proceeds will be retained for overhead and expenses.
  • No Bank Account will be set up at this time.
  • Lisa (a CPA) volunteered and will keep a ledger of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Petty Cash.
  • $1,600 from the Poker Run proceeds & some cash we contributed at this meeting will be presented to the Desoto Sunrise Home this Saturday at the Harvest Festival. (see details of the Festival below).
  • Jeri had $90 excess from the money donated for printing supplies for the 2000 brochures. That $ will be held in petty cash.
