 Last Saturday's Poker Run
$1,580 was raised for Desoto Sunrise Home

Discussion on how to handle the money - the following was decided and voted on:

  • 20% of all proceeds will be retained for overhead and expenses and held in a bank account.
  • Malisa will be responsible for finance set up which includes a Tax ID# and opening a checking account.
  • Check signature authorization will include the signatures of Malisa, Celia and Linda Feathers. Two of the three signatures must be on each check written from the account.
  • Jeri had $90 excess from the money donated for printing supplies for the 2000 brochures. That $ will be deposited and retained in the bank for overhead and expenses.
  • Once the checking account is set up the $ will be deposited and a check will be written to the Desoto Sunrise Homes.
What Went Well at the Poker Run and What We Can Do Different

WHAT WENT WELL

  • Everyone had a fantastic time - Especially Queen Elizabeth & TammyRo
  • We had our butts & boobs rubbed - a lot
  • Robin had a great time - even after it ended :)
  • There were impressive Prizes donated
  • Experienced people were helpful in guiding the inexperienced in running the Poker Run.

SUGGESTIONS OF WHAT WE CAN DO DIFFERENTLY

  • More advanced organizing and planning
  • Planning committees should be established for each event
  • More communication
  • Surplus donated items should be housed for the next fundraiser
  • Malisa will prepare written Poker Run procedures and share with all participants

OTHER SUGGESTIONS

Malisa suggested a thank you note/letter of appreciation would be nice for those who donated prizes. Malisa and Jeri will work together on this and let us know next week.

 Wigs
Liz ordered the wigs but seems to be having issues with the company where she placed the orders. It was suggested to order the wigs individually. We need to find out from Liz what the status of the wig order is to resolve and expedite this issue.
Poker Run - This Saturday, November 1st, 2003
Home Depot is sponsoring a Poker Run for the Desoto Sunrise Homes this Saturday and it was suggested that we should make a full costume appearance. Linda Feathers will check into this further and email the details.
 Visiting Desoto Sunrise Homes
Before visiting the Desoto Sunrise Homes, a background investigation will need to be conducted on each of us. TammyRo brought applications and passed them out. If you want to visit the Homes next week - they will need to be completed and turned in to the Sunrise Home within 3 days. You can contact Robin at (601) 670-6096 if you need assistance.
 Christmas Parade
Need to start a float - resume discussion next week.
St. Patrick's Day in Jackson, Mississippi
We need to start getting our plans & committees together.
 December 6th LeBonher Toy Run
Malisa suggested we might want to think about attending this event – The media will be there. Pay $10 and bring a toy. Will resume discussion next week.
 Harvest Ball
TammyRo is ready to start teaching the choreography and we need to start practicing the entertainment. Janice suggested a song called Da Butt by E.U. - Will resume discussion next week.
 Announcements
KT announced that Crye-Lyeike Realtors voted Desoto Sunrise Homes as one of top three choices for their annual donation.
